Love your remixes? Jai Wolf picks his 6 faves by Aussies

New York producer Jai Wolf is making his way Down Under for what is bound to be a sweet, dance-tastic tour of Straya. His debut single Indian Summer has caught on like wildfire (like Game of Thrones wyldfire), not to mention his remix skills which caught the eye of dance music lord Skrillex in the first place. Ahead of his tour kicking off next week, Wolf let us in on some of his favourite remixes with an Aussie flavour that are well worth checking out.

Jai Wolf Indian Summer Australian tour

Ahead of his Indian Summer tour kicking off in Australia next week, New York’s Jai Wolf picks his 6 favourite remixes from Strayan’ brethren.

Panama – Always (Wave Racer Remix)

I can’t believe it’s been two years already since this came out, but I remember the first time I listened to this and was instantly hooked. Wave Racer really pioneered a sound of his own and it’s an instantly recognizable stamp that’s been incorporated into a lot of other successful producers’ tracks.

Rufus – Sarah (Touch Sensitive Remix)

This song always hits me right in the feels. Touch Sensitive has this way of creating such a beautiful dreamlike landscape with his music, and Sarah is a perfect example of that.

Panama – Destroyer (Cosmo’s Midnight Remix)

Cosmo’s Midnight‘s remix of Panama’s Destroyer has always been high up on my list of Future Classic remixes. This song’s got such a great sense of syncopation and the lead synth line is super catchy. It all melts together into one hell of a great remix.

Lorde – Tennis Court (Flume Remix)

Like Wave Racer’s Always remix, this was another big game changer. I love playing out Flume during my sets, he’s got such a unique style and this song specifically solidified it. These huge walls of sound with syncopated spaces carved out such a fresh lane for electronic music. I’m also a huge fan of Lorde, so this song became an instant favorite.

Ellie Goulding – Beating Heart (Motez Remix)

I’m a big fan of Ellie, and Motez took this song and transformed it into such a fantastic, energetic dance track. His use of vocal manipulation on this track really showcases his talent.

Odesza – Say My Name (Hayden James Remix)

I was on this same remix package for Odesza actually, and when I heard all the other mixes on the package, this one instantly stuck out to me. It’s got this extremely relaxing vibe, but still keeps the energy up there. Big things are headed for Hayden James. I actually just had the pleasure of sharing a stage with him at CRSSD Festival earlier this month. Looking forward to things coming from him.
