Premiere: Milky Chance: Stolen Dance (Wasteland Bootleg)

Move over Stoney Roads because Happy is getting in on the EDM game. Sure, we’ve interviewed, premiered and published some pieces on a whole bunch of electronic music over the years, Willow Beats, GXNXVS, Cosmo’s Midnight, et cetera, but this might be our premiere premiere for a track that goes a little like nnf nnf nnf nnf.

Just in time for the weekend, here’s a huge track from Germany’s Milky Chance that’s gotten a prog house rework from Perth deckmaster Wasteland.

The track in question is a very progressive, very housey remix of the insanely popular Milky Chance out of Kassel, the central German town around which the Millenium Falcon ran in less than 12 parsecs. Their single Stolen Dance has recently gotten a rework from Perth producer Wasteland, who has bootlegged everyone from Denzal Park to Avicii.

The loop heavy track from Milky naturally lends itself to a house remix, and the four to the floor, 120 bpm solidity of house naturally lends itself to connecting with the human body and making it move. This is all I know about house music, and really there isn’t much more to write without going into a dissertation about Chicago’s club scene in the 1980’s. Perhaps the best quote on house music however comes from Gene Belcher.

Wasteland, while a young project from WA’s beatmaker, is finding successes left right and centre in the booming EDM industry, having one of his remixes premiered at Europe’s EDM mecca Tomorrowland, his single City of Angels being featured on Ibiza’s 2014 mix back in June and his remixes routinely garnering plays in the hundreds of thousands.

Listen to the mix below – if you’re digging the vibes, grab a copy of Milky’s original from iTunes.
