See authors get cozy with their furry friends in new book Writers and their Cats

Alison Nastasi has just announced a follow up release to her bestselling book, Artists and their Cats, aptly named Writers and their Cats.

The book will take an intimate look into the lives of over 45 highly esteemed poets, novelists and journalists from around the world, and their close relationships with cats.

Alison Nastasi’s Writers and their Cats will look at highly successful writers from past and present, including the likes of Haruki Murakami, Alice Walker and Mark Twain.

Writers and their Cats will detail the works of each writer and how their feline friends have contributed to their creative processes and overall wellbeing.

The subjects recount how their pets have either provided security, acted as a means of inspiration or allowed their owners to open up with newfound vulnerability in their writing.

Other brilliant writers featuring in the book include highly esteemed fictional novelist Judy Blume, and revolutionary journalist Hunter S. Thompson.

Writers and their Cats will also feature important change makers including social and political activist Gloria Steinem, and beloved graphic novelist Neil Gaiman. Charles Bukowski’s regular muse, his one-eared tomcat, Butch Van Gogh Artaud Bukowski, will also feature in the novel.

Writers and Their Cats will be published by Chronicle on August 21, 2018, and is available for purchase in The Colossal Shop.

You can also purchase Nastasi’s previous book, Artists and their Cats, which featured iconic artists including Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso and their cats!
