A synth has been designed specifically to get kids into making electronic music

Playtime Engineering, a boutique startup based in the States, has developed a new music toy called the Blipblox Audio Exploration Module, which is basically a synthesiser/drum machine designed to get kids into synths and making electronic music at a very young age.

Blipblox

A new synthesiser called the Blipblox has been designed specifically to get kids into making electronic music from as young as three.

While there is a plethora of keyboard-like toys out there, Playtime Engineering assure that the little synth is so much more than just a plaything.

“Instead of generic keyboard sounds,” reads their website, “the Blipblox uses a proprietary algorithm that synthesizes completely unique waveforms. You don’t just play notes on the Blipblox, you actually design your own soundwave.”

Obviously aimed at young kids, the Blipblox has been designed with a safe and easy-to-use interface, which is suitable for children as young as three.

But with a bunch of professional features – including MIDI compatibility, a low pass filter, two envelope generators, eight oscillator modulation schemes, two LFOs and MIDI and more – it’s something more advanced musicians could get around too. Just remember to share though.
