CupcakKe and fans slam YouTube for unfairly removing her music videos

After YouTube removed two video clips from former church poet turned rapper CupcakKe, she took to social media to slam the platform.

The Chicago rapper, well known for her sex positive lyrics and anthems, took to Twitter, demanding that that YouTube re-upload the clip for Deepthroat, which had garnered over 23 million views.

With CupcakKe’s growing popularity, the video had received a plethora of ‘inappropriate content’ reports from users around the world, which automates a response from YouTube’s algorithm to delete content immediately.

Several hours after the initial tweet, YouTube also deleted one of the rapper’s newest tracks Duck Duck Goose, as it violated “Youtube’s policy on nudity and/or sexual content”.

CupcakKe, with her incredibly active communal following on social media, implored her followers to push for the platform to reinstate her videos – which was met with roaring success.

Hours after YouTube removed the videos, they were re-uploaded, along with an apology from a YouTube representative:

“With the massive volume of videos on our site, sometimes we make the wrong call. When it’s brought to our attention that a video has been removed mistakenly, we act quickly to reinstate it.”

Released in 2015, Deepthroat quickly became a viral sensation, skyrocketing CupcakKe’s career to new heights. The single later appeared on her debut EP, Cum Cake. Since her inception, CupcakKe has gone onto record three full studio albums, the most recent of which was released mid January this year, and included the track Duck Duck Goose.
