Your favourite hip-hop records are being reissued with Marvel Comics artwork

A couple of years ago, Marvel Comics paid homage to awesome hip-hop records by creating a collection of crossover album covers. These included Lil B’s Black Flame, MF DOOM and Madlib’s Madvillainy, and GZA’s Liquid Swords.

Now Marvel and Urban Legends have come together to put three of those covers out on new vinyl LP reissues.

Urban Legends and Marvel Comics have teamed up to release three classic hip-hop albums on vinyl, each sporting awesome crossover artwork.

Due out December 7th, the first releases will feature Iron Man standing behind cracked glass for 50 Cent’s 2003 debut, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, the Punisher mirroring LL Cool J’s famous stance on the cover of his 1990 album, Mama Said Knock You Out, and Iron Man fighting Maestro for GZA’s second studio album, Liquid Swords.

Urban Legends say on their website:

“Marvel Comics originally debuted these album art-inspired images as comic book variants for many of their top comic titles in 2015, reinterpreted by a number of fan-favourite comic book artists. Now Marvel’s highly successful variant comic book cover series will be combined with our massive catalog that includes the most revered and influential albums in hip-hop history.”

Each release will be available in standard and deluxe editions, each limited to 3000 copies per album. Check out the covers below. You can pre-order them here.
