Following its premiere at Sundance earlier this year, the Joan Jett documentary Bad Reputation is finally set for official release this September 28th.
And today Magnolia Pictures have shared the incredible first trailer.
Rock music hero Joan Jett breaks down the rock n’ roll “boys club” in the incredible new trailer for her Bad Reputation documentary.
Directed by music video director Kevin Kerslake, the new doco is set to follow Jett’s career as one of rock music’s most iconic voices; chronicling her time with The Runaways and her solo career in 70’s.
The new trailer begins with Jett sharing the story of the time she first approached a man about receiving guitar lessons. The man would tell her “girls don’t play rock and roll,” to which Jett replied “Bull!”
The trailer also features a number of interviews from such names as Kathleen Hanna, Iggy Pop, and Billie Joe Armstrong.
“Tell me I can’t do something… you know I’m gonna be doing it,” Jett says to close out the trailer.
