Watch Arcade Fire lead a David Bowie parade through the streets of New Orleans

Following the sad news of David Bowie’s passing there have been many people showing their love for the man who was not only an icon of music, but also of film, fashion, sexuality and genuine artistic expression. Arcade Fire have paid tribute in style, hosting a massive memorial parade in New Orleans, and judging from the footage everyone there had a pretty good time.

Arcade Fire and the Preservation Jazz Band created a Facebook event (because why not?) with about 4 000 people heading down to the David Bowie parade. Called ‘Pretty Things’, in reference to the Bowie song Oh! You Pretty Things, fans were told to wear their best Bowie outift, or anything just as weird.

Speaking of David Bowie’s passing, front man Win Butler said “I will take to the grave the moments we shared. Talking, playing music and collaborating as some of the most profound and memorable moments of my life.

You can watch the parade shenanigans below, including the bands playing Bowie classics like Pretty Things, Heroes and Fame.
