Ever needed to use a photo that was sexually suggestive but also tame enough to use for, say, a work presentation or uni assignment? Stock image website Unsplash have got you covered.
They recently announced ‘Unporn‘, a resource of beautiful, slightly naughty images aimed at helping people discuss sexual subjects in a “more safe, creative way”.

“Our aim with Unporn is to enable every creator to visually express themselves no matter what subject they need to approach,” writes Unsplash founder and CEO, Mike Cho.
Our world is becoming increasingly visual. Yet, when it comes to the visual expression around sexual subjects, we’re limited to medical diagrams and porn.
The lack of quality, usable imagery around sexual subjects doesn’t make people stop talking about them. It only makes these subjects harder to talk about. Just because something may be considered taboo, doesn’t mean it should be suppressed from creative expression. Taboo subjects need creativity the most.”
The collection is small but rapidly growing, with over 70 images having been uploaded already (shout out to photographers Annie Spratt and Charles Deluvio, who are responsible for many of these) and, at the time of writing, have been downloaded over 64,000 times by everyone from Elle to Playboy.
You’ll find all kind of sexually suggestive photos in there, from erect cacti and juicy fruits to hams and eggplants.
“Today, many sexual subjects considered “off-limits” have a growing need to be communicated,” writes Cho. “Unsplash is a place for enabling creative expression. At the same time, Unsplash is a safe space for all creators. So we made a new kind of Safe For Work photography to cover the Not Safe for Work creative needs of the world.”
