Trevor Hall’s wholesome blend of acoustic folk, roots and reggae has garnered massive attention the world over.

The Fruitful Darkness, released in 2017, pays homage to Buddhist teacher Roshi Joan Halifax’s book, published in 1994, of the same name. The album, which explores spirituality, consciousness, Shamanism and deep internal exploration, bears many thematic similarities to the novel.

Speaking of his new single, Hall shared:

“This single, MOON/SUN is a song of jubilation and a celebration of spirit. On this journey that we’re all on, sometimes we push love away. It’s the only thing we want, but still, we push it away.”

“MOON/SUN is about the eternal space of the heart. The space in your heart is never going away. No matter where you go, that love is always going to be there.”

The clip was directed by the team at Taylor Cut Studios, known for their work with the likes of Usher, Justin Bieber and The Chainsmokers, and was filmed in one day on the beach in Santa Barbara, California.

Hall has toured extensively through the United States, Europe, Central America and Australia, and is one of the many international artists gracing the stage at next year’s Byron Bay Bluesfest. Hall’s Bluesfest debut was back in 2017, but he’s returning to wow audiences one more time.

If Byron Bay is just that bit too far, don’t worry; he’ll be playing sideshows in both Sydney and Melbourne, too.
