Over the last few weeks, we’ve had our eyes on Tame Impala’s latest collaborative project – a suite of songs written with Theophilus London.
So far we’ve only heard live recordings of the tracks, which haven’t given a whole lot away in terms of what the collab sounds like. However, the duo – which has been dubbed TheoImpala – debuted new material on Virgil Abloh’s Beats 1 Radio show over the weekend. You can listen to one of them below.
The new collaboration between Theophilus London and Tame Impala debuted two tracks over the weekend. Listen to one of them below.
Roughly an hour into the show, the group premiered an original song titled Whiplash (credited as Theophilus London featuring Tame Impala), followed by a cover of Nigerian songwriter Steve Monite’s 1984 hit Only You (which has previously been covered by Frank Ocean and Sandy Alex G).
While no formal release date has been announced, you can hear a sneaky rip of the Only You cover here.
