Then It Fell Apart: Moby to release follow-up to 2016 memoir Porcelain

Moby is set to release a new book following up his 2016 memoir Porcelain, “a journey into the dark heart of fame and the demons that lurk beneath the bling and bluster of the celebrity lifestyle.”

Of the book, Stephen Colbert said, “Somehow this chronicle of a long, dark night of the soul also involves funny stories involving Trump, Putin, and a truly baffling array of degenerates.”

Moby follows up his 2016 memoir Porcelain with Then It Fell Apart, exposing the “long, dark night of the soul” while also sharing humorous anecdotes about politics and everyday life.

The artist was catapulted into fame in 1999 with the release of his era-defining album Play, which featured the instantly-recognisable, nostalgic Porcelain – isn’t it ironic that he had to be talked into including the song onto the album?

“Suddenly he was hanging out with David Bowie and Lou Reed, Christina Ricci and Madonna, taking ecstasy for breakfast (most days), drinking litres of vodka (every day), and sleeping with super models (infrequently). It was a diet that couldn’t last. And then it fell apart,” said Faber in a press release.

The musician opened up about his struggles with alcoholism in September when he accepted the Rock to Recovery Icon Award. “When I got sober 10 years ago, I was truly bottomed out. Like suicide attempts, just despair and nothing was working.”

Then It Fell Apart will be available on June 11 2019 via Faber Social – preorder it here.
