The world’s largest pedalboard? Watch The War On Drugs’ superb perfomance on The Tonight Show

Ahead of their Australian appearances at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival plus sideshows, The War On Drugs took the time to stop in on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for an airtight performance.

The track chosen was Pain, a cut from their superb 2017 album A Deeper Understanding. The song recently earned the band their first ever number one, hitting the pole position on Billboard’s Adult Alternative chart just days ago.

Jimmy Fallon The War on Drugs Pain

Armed with only their own chops and a pedalboard the size of a fridge, The War On Drugs enchanted audiences on The Tonight Show.

The performance is as tight as they come, frontman Adam Granduciel leading the six-piece guitar in hand. Pain actually wasn’t released as a pre-album single, rather when A Deeper Understanding had dropped.

Its success has since outclassed Strangest Thing and Holding On. After seeing it performed live, you can see why.

Check out the clip below. Don’t ask me why Fallon is sopping wet… I don’t know.
