Yes, that’s right. This October marks the 50th anniversary of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Electric Ladyland… and to celebrate, Legacy Records will be reissuing the iconic album as a huge new box set.
Available as either a 3 CD or 6 LP set, the new box set will include a stack of demos, outtakes, and more.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Electric Ladyland turns 50 this year! In celebration, the iconic album is set to be reissued as a huge new box set.
The deluxe edition of the new reissue will be released on November 9th, and will feature a new remastered version of the album by Bernie Grundman, as well as a 5.1 surround sound version mixed by Hendrix’s original engineer Eddie Kramer.
It is also set to include the unreleased live recording Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live at the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68, and the 1997 documentary At Last… The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland on Blu-ray.
All this will be packaged alongside a new 48-page book featuring unpublished photos, handwritten lyrics, notes, and poems.
The new edition will also feature a new cover art, with a photo of the band by Linda McCartney – which was Hendrix’s personal choice for the album art.
