Han Solo spin off movie loses directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller during filming

Directors of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie have departed half way through production.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a range of critically acclaimed movies under their belt such as Cloud With A Chance of Meatballs (2009), The Lego Movie (2014), 21 Jump Street (2012) and its sequel.

Acclaimed directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller have reportedly been fired from the Han Solo spin off movie because of “creative differences.”

Although the duo hates the term, they cited “creative differences” as the reason for their split.

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm in a statement.

According to Variety, the directors were fired by Kennedy over clashing vision, and the duo weren’t “given the leeway to do what they had to do.”

“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew,” stated Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

A new director hasn’t been confirmed and the release date of the currently unnamed Han Solo spin off is scheduled for May 2018.
