TEDxSydney is returning for another year, the first announce of speakers and performers featuring some of Australia’s most promising creative minds.

The first round of performers have been announced and the list includes some incredible Australian artistic minds, both musical and political. First up is Tom Thum, one of the nation’s best beat boxers. Having already wowed the world with his record breaking debut appearance on TEDx in 2013 which racked up  more than 84 million views, the rapper is back to deliver another stunning performance.

Victorian singer songwriter Didirri returns from a massive year of performing here in Australia and overseas, and will be sharing his stories and experiences as one of the country’s most promising young artists. Joining him will be Kaiit, the South Melbourne-based, Papua New Guinean soul artist.

One of the youngest participants Solli Raphael was named Australia’s Slam Poetry King at just 13 years of age. The homeschooled prodigy is known for his powerful performances centred around homelessness, refugees and evolution. Lastly, artist Mark Bolotin will be bringing his interactive multimedia piece The Lumiphonic Creature Choir, which allows for audiences to trigger and play in time with an enormous twelve-headed audio-visual instrument.

Other speakers include LGBTIQ activist and actor Magda Szubanski, the mind behind behind the launch of the AFL Women’s League, Chyloe Kurdas, and high school teacher Eddie Woo, who is using YouTube to make maths cool.

TEDxSydney’s Head of Curation Fenella Kernebone has said “As the line between technology and the things that make us human continues to blur, the stories shared from the stage this year remind us of who we are  –  our initiative, creativity and invention, but also our compassion.”

“TEDxSydney is the ultimate destination for curious minds, game-changers and for those who seek to be inspired. We’re thrilled with this lineup of high profile personalities and everyday heroes sharing their unique perspective and ideas on the HumanKind theme.”
