Set on the sandy shores of Cronulla, Aus Music Week features live performances from over 100 national and international music acts, inspiring panel discussions, masterclass workshops with industry professionals and a mini film festival.

To kick off the festival, there’s a screening of Turn It Up! Finding Sydney’s Sound, a film that discusses the changing climate of Sydney’s music scene and poses the controversial question: is it dead, or can it be revived? With appearances from the likes of Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus), Flight Facilities, Alison Avron of Sydney venue The Newsagency, Hannah Crofts (All Our Exes Live In Texas), Lindsay McDougall (Frenzal Rhomb) and Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea), the film, and the topics it poses, is the perfect opener for Australian Music Week.
