While the event itself took place in the US, thankfully the sets from 85 of their artists were streaming online for us poor Australians to see.

It proved a popular online destination, with thousands upon thousands of viewers tuning in to catch the world’s best musicians tearing it up. Here are our picks for the best in show.

Sifting through every single Coachella live set? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Catch the top 5 performances from the festival here.

Future Islands – Seasons (Waiting On You)

While Future Islands largely played hits from their recently released LP The Far Field, it was impossible to go past the song that started it all for them. Dem moves.

Hans Zimmer – Inception

BWAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM. Props to Coachella booking the king of the soundtrack Hans Zimmer, a somewhat risky move that completely paid off. Expect to see Zims on the road a lot more after the huge reception here.

The Lemon Twigs – Queen of My School

It’s too hard to take your eyes off The Lemon Twigs. They’ve had a dynamite start to their budding career, and this performance of Queen of My School proves they have the live chops to back up their explosive catalogue.

Father John Misty – Ballad Of The Dying Man

Burning question: was ol’ FJM tripping acid while he smashed out his latest single on the Coachella stage? Who cares, because this performance was fucking tight.

Radiohead – Paranoid Android

Ahh, Radiohead. The voice of a downtrodden generation. On the weekend a myriad of technical difficulties attempted to hinder the performance from Thom and the boys, to no avail.

Watch their performance of the rarely-seen Paranoid Android below.
