Move over Sydney and Melbourne! This week Perth takes the spotlight as hundreds of musicians and industry professionals take over the city as part of the annual WAMAwards.
Ahead of this weekend’s biggest WAMFest program yet, last night’s 2018 WAMAwards welcomed local and international punters to celebrate the exciting industry that is West Australian music.
This weekend, Perth will be taken over by veterans, exports and up-and-comers alike for two massive nights of live music and performance. The city will welcome thousands of music fans and witness over 200 performances spread across venues Perth-wide. The best thing of all? It’s totally free, so you too can witness the fast-evolving West Australian music scene no matter your budget.
The 2018 WAMAwards ceremony featured stellar performances by award winners Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse, Carla Geneve, Hyclass and award nominees Gemma Farrell Quintet, Your Girl Pho, and Ralway Bell. The event also saw Perth music veterans The Stems inducted into the WAM Music Hall of Fame.
