A family picking flowers, a joyous taxi ride and a pilgrimage to The Himalayas; the 2019 Portrait of Humanity entries have beeb nade available for public viewing before the prize is announced in the new year.

The Portrait of Humanity is an international photography award and global initiative by 1894 Media, the publishers of the British Photographic Journal, in partnership with Magnum Photos.
As stated on their website, the “Portrait of Humanity serves as a timely reminder, that despite our many differences, we are able to unite as a global community through the power of photography, to create one of the greatest collaborative photography exhibitions in history”.
The Guardian will publish a monthly series of images until entries close in January next year. Here is a snippet of the first monthly collection of images coming out of the Portrait of Humanity prize:
