Get drunk on Flaming Moe’s at Sydney’s upcoming Simpsons-themed pop-up bar

All Simpsons fanatics will remember season three, episode ten when Homer creates a secret cocktail made up of cough medicine and fire that he calls the Flaming Homer.

He tells Moe Szyslak, who steals the recipe and rebrands it as the Flaming Moe. The episode is on every Simpsons Top Ten list of all time. It even features Aerosmith!

Simpsons fans will be delighted to know that they’re in for a treat next April, when a Flaming Moe’s inspired pop-up bar is planned to hit Australian shores.

Sydney fans aren’t the only lucky ones; people in Brisbane and Melbourne will be able to enjoy the cocktail, too. While there’s no guarantee that the real cocktail will contain the grape-flavoured cough medicine as depicted in the show, there are rumours that there will be plenty of tequila, creme de menthe and peppermint schnapps, an unholy combination that might just work.

If you’re not a fan of cocktails, don’t fret. There’ll be plenty of Duff-inspired beer on tap, too. To top off the night, there’ll be a round of Simpsons-themed trivia, with themed prizes up for grabs.
