Soundcloud will soon stream directly to Traktor, Serato, and other DJ software

Over the weekend at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Soundcloud unveiled they would be integrating their catalogue with a cohort of popular DJ software.

The update will make all media on Soundcloud available to stream directly through Native Instruments’ Traktor, Serato, Mixvibes and more. Gone are the days of streaming directly from your phone or laptop and attempting a shitty crossfade (we hope).

Soundcloud have unveiled plans for direct integration with a variety of the world’s most popular DJ software, available sometime soon to Soundcloud Go+ users.

Speaking of the update in a press release, SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor shared:

“Until recently, digital workflows for DJs were limited to downloads and physical media, but streaming workflows are the future. Through these partnerships, DJs will have the largest, most diverse streaming music catalog ever assembled instantly accessible within the tools they use everyday.”

Soundcloud also revealed their plans for access to high quality (AAC 256kbps) uploads for Soundcloud Go+ subscribers. The change seems primarily aimed at those who will be using the new integrated streaming feature, but I’m sure some users will be psyched for a higher bitrate option regardless.

Not long ago, Soundcloud also announced their previously invite-only monetisation platform would become available to any user with more than 5,000 streams per month.
