Radiohead have completely vanished off the face of the internet

Masters of mystery, Radiohead have disappeared from the Internet.

It appears that Radiohead have completely vanished off the face of the internet. Sign of a new album? Nobody is sure yet.

Yet another hint of something big to come for the band, their online presence has gradually been diminishing over the past 24 hours. Reddit users were the first to notice something strange with one user noting, “I just visited radiohead.com and everything seemed more pale, both the main page and DAS. Looking at the source code, I noticed that they’ve put the opacity of the whole page at 75%.” Since then, we have seen their website and social media slowly lose all of their content.

The whole charade comes just days after the band issued flyers to their fans that said, “Sing a song of sixpence that goes/Burn the Witch/We know where you live.”

As of now, Monday May 2nd 3:44 AEST, their Google + page, Facebook, Thom Yorke’s Twitter, their official website have all gone completely blank – and we can only hope it’s the opposite indication of what is to come for the band.

It’s not the first time they have launched a huge publicity stunt before a record. Their latest, The King of Limbs, was released for free a day after it was announced, with option for special ‘newspaper’ version of the record being sold. For In Rainbows the band did something similar, releasing the album with a ‘pay as you want’ option. Only this was in 2008, and they were one of the first major label acts to release music for free legal download. The stunt was  “hailed as a revolution in the way major bands sell their music.”

Keep an eye out for more news.
