PREMIERE: Zorsy’s new EP First Blush is an explosion of A-grade musicianship

It was only a couple of weeks ago that we premiered Screw Pile, the latest single from Sydney based multi-instrumentalist Zorsy. As soon as we heard the track, we were hooked. Zorsy is making music in a world of his own right now – it’s a fusion of so many genres, it’d be pointless listing them all here.

So as soon as we heard he was releasing a new EP, we were pretty bloody excited. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

First Blush, the new EP from Sydney based multi-instrumentalist Zorsy, is here… and as expected, it’s a colourful explosion of energy and A-grade musicianship.

The EP kicks off with its title track, First Blush.  The song is a sultry, jazz-laden slice of sprawling instrumentals. On first listen, I didn’t even realise it lasts seven-and-a-half minutes. While many artists fall victim to lengthy song durations, Zorsy manages to keep each of his tracks exciting from start to finish.

On Swamp Mog, he flies through an energetic, prog-rock inspired fusion of sounds. With searing guitar lines and air-tight percussion, the song is all net. From here, Zorsy traverses through explosive keys on You Like That Shit, and the woozy energy of Screw Pile.

By the time the EPs dreamy two-minute closer Fini. reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely to Zorsy’s unique sounds.
