PREMIERE: Zockapilli refine their infectious, jangly sound on You’re So Cold

It’s a little difficult to believe that Melbourne outfit Zockapilli only formed last year. With an incredible debut single already under their belts, the four-piece rock an effortless charisma it takes most bands years to develop.

Now with the release of their new single You’re So Cold, the band further refine their infectious, jangly sound. We’re bloody stoked to be premiering this one.

With bone-rattling bass lines, woozy guitar work, and blistering vocal delivery, Zockapilli’s new single You’re So Cold is simultaneously airy and hard-hitting.

On You’re So Cold, the band trade in the raucous surfy vibes of their previous release Fever Dream, for a far darker and more considered approach to indie-rock songwriting.

And it pays off. Throughout the new song, Zockapilli manoeuvre through bone-rattling bass lines, woozy guitar work, and blistering vocal delivery to craft a track that feel simultaneously airy and hard-hitting.

You’re So Cold was recorded by Neil Gray (The Living End, Dan Sultan, Big Scary), and flaunts the band’s penchant for infectious instrumental hooks.

Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear more from these Melbourne lads… because judging from what we’ve heard so far, we’re in for more great tunes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to You’re So Cold above, and catch Zockapilli live at their single launch show on August 11th at the Grace Darling Hotel, Collingwood. More info here.
