PREMIERE: Wakan Phoenix return with a kick-ass new video

I’m not sure there ever existed a two-piece band capable of creating such an explosion of noise as Brisbane outfit Wakan Phoenix. The duo belt out a hellish concoction of crunching guitars and wailing vocals that’ll melt your stupid face.

Now, after a brief hiatus in 2017, the band have risen from the ashes with a blistering new track The Phoenix Will Rise.

With their blistering new video for The Phoenix Will Rise, Brisbane two-piece Wakan Phoenix have returned for one purpose: To destroy.

On The Phoenix Will Rise, the Queensland duo stomp through a hard-hitting blend of stoner-rock, garage, and straight up rock n’ roll that’ll slap you across the face and leave you asking for more.

The track’s accompanying video sees the duo riding in the tray of a pick-up truck, setting off flares, demolishing some watermelons, and laying down a high-octane live performance of the track. It’s possibly the toughest clip we’ve seen this year.

Wakan Phoenix have been kicking around for a couple of years now, and in that time they’ve dropped a string of consistently great releases. Here’s hoping we won’t have to long to hear more from this Brisbane duo.

For now, do yourself a favour and watch the new video above.
