PREMIERE: Meander through the irresistibly smooth sounds of Twinfolds’ Apple City

Since forming back in 2015, Brisbane four-piece Twinfolds have sauntered through a crooning brand of psych-rock that feels simultaneously energetic and laid-back.

With an impressive string of tracks under their collective belt, the band have developed a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh; a hypnotic blend of chamber-pop, lounge rock, and psychedelia. Now, the band have shared their irresistibly smooth new single Apple City… and we’re stoked to premiering it for you today.

On their irresistibly smooth new single Apple City, Brisbane four-piece Twinfolds saunter through a charming blend of lounge-pop and psych that feels simultaneously nostalgic and fresh.

Made up of vocalist and saxophonist Hamish Litster, guitarist James Martoo, bassist Hugh Duke-Freney, and drummer Nelson Partoredjo, Twinfolds weave together woozy instrumentation and effortless vocal delivery to craft music that’ll seep into your hips and make them sway.

Reminiscent of the meandering sounds of Serge Gainsbourg, the new track is the follow-up single to Red Light, which was released back in May.

These are still relatively early days for Twinfolds, but judging by the qaulity of what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great material from this Queensland quartet.

Though for now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above, and if you want to catch the band live, you can do so at any of the following dates:

September 21st – Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane
September 23rd – Solbar, Maroochydore
