Melbourne-based Time For Dreams elicit a whole host of senses through their sophisticated and synth-driven sound. After melting minds with their debut album In Time, the powerhouse pair return with their latest hypnotic pop track, You’ve Got a Friend.

Time For Dreams is made up of Tom Carlyon (Standish/Carlyon, Devastations) and Amanda Roff (Harmony, The Drones).

Potent and lush, You’ve Got a Friend by Time For Dreams rolls along with beckoning vocals and beats so sensual they’ll make you blush.

With Roff’s angelic vocals and Carylon’s sizzling guitar skills, the band are no strangers to making waves. Debut album In Time was not just ecstatically received but long-listed for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.

Recorded and mixed in an impulsive two-day session with John Lee of Phaedra Studios, You’ve Got a Friend comes to life with the duo’s signature moody tone, cosmic texture and reverb-drenched sound.

Roff shares the band’s vision behind the paired tracks, stating “You’ve Got A Friend (named as a homage to Carole King) was written during a time of depression, loneliness and general disillusionment with the human race. A tiny tale of kindness and friendship in a world of violence and apathy.”

“Imagine getting into a fight on the way home from the pub and being rescued by a sinister hermit. You can’t decide if they are a saint or a serial killer. Death of a Disco Dancer seemed a thematically appropriate B-side.”

You’ve Got a Friend drops across major streaming services tomorrow May 25th. A limited edition 7” vinyl single is available to pre-order via It Records and goes on sale June 16th.
