PREMIERE: The Astrals’ new single Twenty-three will warm your heart and stick in your head

Based out of Sydney’s inner west, The Astrals are one of those bands you can’t help but fall in love with. Their music is rich, warm, and incredibly addictive.

I don’t often make promises, but I will promise you this: the band’s new track Twenty-three will be stuck in your head for weeks.

Twenty-three, the warm and incredibly addictive new track from Sydney outfit The Astrals, will both warm your heart and stick in your head.

Made up of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Claire Simpson, lead guitarist/vocalist Jasper Mainwaring, drummer Leon Pateman, and bassist Tom Clarke, the four-piece effortlessly meld elements of shoegaze, dream-pop, grunge, and surf-rock to deliver a sound that belongs entirely to themselves.

On their new single, The Astrals navigate deeply infectious vocal melodies and bright, jangly instrumentation to craft a track that feels simultaneously energetic and laid back. It’s a unique and endearing quality that few bands can pull off.

The track’s accompanying music video alternates between warm, VHS style imagery and sharp, stunning videography.

The Astrals are pretty new to the scene, though judging from this latest offering, I think we can safely expect more great tunes from this Sydney band. Stay tuned for more.
