PREMIERE: Enter the dark and sprawling world of Tether’s new video for The Knife

With only a pair of singles under their collective belt, Perth based four-piece Tether are relatively new to the scene. But in a short amount of time, the band have quickly established themselves as one of the country’s more exciting emerging acts.

With their dark and brooding brand of alt-pop, the band craft songs that’ll crawl beneath your skin and stay there for weeks. Now, with the release of their new video for The Knife, they continue to build upon their immersive sounds.

On their new video for The Knife, Perth based four-piece Tether navigate a series of dark and surreal sonic landscapes to deliver something truly hypnotic.

Throughout the new single, Tether navigate a blend of pop, indie-rock and shoegaze to deliver a sound uniquely their own. Simultaneously dreamy and hard-hitting, The Knife will slap you in the face and leave you with a wonderful feeling of disorientation.

With droning guitars, bone-rattling percussion and woozy vocals, the new single is a haunting slice of music that you’ll quickly get hooked on. Entering into one of Tether’s sprawling soundscapes is like entering into some bizarre maze – you won’t know which direction it’s going to lead you next, but you’re more than willing to go along for the ride.

These are still early days for Tether, but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material from this Perth band.
