PREMIERE: Let Tesla Cøils take you on a dark, sprawling journey with Dinosynth

Since the release of their debut EP Emergence Of The Cosmic Monolith in 2016, Gold Coast-based duo Tesla Cøils (Jed A. Wølters and Chris Dennis) have carved out a unique space for themselves in the Australian music scene. Their music is at once captivating and unnerving; a barrage of post-apocalyptic noise that will stick in your bones for weeks.

Today, with the release of their latest single Dinosynth, the band continue to build themselves as purveyors of gloriously dark electronica. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

Dinosynth, the dark new track from Gold Coast industrial duo Tesla Cøils, is a sprawling, cosmic journey that you’ll never want to end.

Throughout the new single, Tesla Cøils navigate a concoction of post-punk, industrial, noise, and electronica to craft a sound that feels both expansive and claustrophobic. With pulsating drum beats, unsettling synths, and gloomy vocal hooks, Dinosynth is a sprawling cosmic journey that will leave you feeling as though your venturing through space unaccompanied.

Dinosynth is a whimsical journey with a deeper meaning,” says Wølters.

“…despite its obviously sci-fi-based lyrics about a cyborg dinosaur floating through space, the song is actually about my own experiences with isolation and that feeling that you are alone in the universe.

The track’s new video, animated by Peter Anthony, is the perfect visual accompaniment. Featuring a giant cyborg tyrannosaur, the clip will pull you into both the visual and sonic stories being told.

These are still relatively early days for this Gold Coast band, but judging by everything we’ve seen and heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material from Tesla Cøils.
