PREMIERE: Teens unleash pure psychedelia on powerful new cut Chemical Reaction

Do you ever hear a song that makes you feel like you’re travelling between time and space? Where you see all the colours of the rainbow and feel like in that moment you could, in fact, be infinite?

Well let us introduce you to Teens, a high-flying three-piece hailing from the streets of Launceston, Tasmania. Today they release their hefty new tune Chemical Reaction.

Riff heavy and blasted by outworld distortion, Chemical Reaction has got to be the most potent release from Tassie outfit Teens yet.

With Shawn Arnold on vocals and guitar, Cody Mills on drums and Mary Shannon on vocals and bass, this band are known for their distinct stage presence and their blend of alternative and psychedelic rock.

With the Teens’ founder Arnold growing up in Northern Tasmania surrounded by a distinct lack of sound, it’s no surprise himself and his band mates were eventually bound to harvest some original, totally unreal noise of their own.

Coming off a 2017 that saw them support The Ocean Party and join Good Morning throughout their Tasmanian tour, Teens are riding high. Add two of their songs getting spun on Unearthed and you can expect to see this Sonic Youth-influenced trio climbing to the top in no time.

With the release of their new single Chemical Reaction, Teens showcase their talents with sharp bass riffs, a brilliant interdependence between the guitar and drums,  drawn-out vocals and an all-round psychedelic/indie vibe.

With an EP on the cards in early 2018 and hopes for new songs to be coming out within the month, Teens have their eyes set on the prize. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground, Teens may be your next psych obsession.
