PREMIERE: Papa Pilko and The Binrats bathe in swampy goodness on Go It Alone

Sometimes genres are like cliques at school. The electronic musicians stay in one corner, the punks in another. They rarely talk, and if they do, everybody knows. But there’s always that kid that floats between groups, the one who’s friends with everyone. Papa Pilko and The Binrats is that kid.

They’re confident playing on any kind of bill with any kind of band. Maybe that’s why their music, despite belonging to such a niche genre, is limitless. It’s a paradox, and one they’re proud of.

With their latest single Go It Alone, Papa Pilko and The Binrats provide the perfect soundtrack for drinking mint juleps and fending off alligators on the Mississipi Delta.

Papa Pilko and The Binrats have transcended their voodoo, alt-country niche to make a name for themselves in Sydney’s burgeoning music scene. They’re found on bills with country acts, rock acts and indie acts alike. It’s because no matter what you’re into, you’re guaranteed to have a good time watching.

After releasing their straight-up blues rock ‘n’ roll hit Right in Time back in April, Papa Pilko and The Binrats are at it again with Go It Alone, their new swampy new single. Listen below.

Go It Alone is just as spooky, sultry and sassy as you’d hope it to be. Pilko’s intensely powerful voice sounds like it’s come straight out of an old-world radio transmitter while you’re changing the oil in your car.

Papa Pilko and The Binrats are playing a string of east coast shows for their Go It Alone single tour throughout September, October and November. Catch them at any of the dates below.
