PREMIERE: Meander’s new Pretty Good Thanks EP is pure punk chaos

It was in mid-2017, with the release of their track Go, that we were first introduced to the raucous punk sounds of Melbourne four-piece Meander. Since then, the band have toured extensively around Victoria, released an EP, and further refined their music.

Now, fresh off a lineup change, the band have shared their new EP Pretty Good Thanks. With its release, they continue to build themselves as one of the most promising emerging acts in Aussie rock… so it should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

On their new EP Pretty Good Thanks, Melbourne-based four-piece Meander deliver a chaotic slice of alt-punk glory.

Throughout the new EP, Meander belt through their signature concoction of indie-rock, grunge, and punk to deliver a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. With piercing vocal hooks, crunching guitars, and pounding drum beats, Pretty Good Thanks is a smack in the face from start to finish.

Made up of bassist Mason Bullard, guitarist and vocalist Riley McCloskey, guitarist and vocalist Brannon Johnson, and drummer Jake Joyce, Meander make the kind of music that sounds like it crawled out of some near-by gutter. It’s chaotic and rough around the edges, but the closer you listen, the more you’ll come to realise that it’s not like anything else currently making the rounds.

These are still early days for Meander’s new lineup, but judging by the quality of what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new EP above.
