PREMIERE: Luke and Sarah-Rose unveil their stunning new single Sleep It Off

Luke and Sarah-Rose sound a little like The XX… but distinctly Australian and with way more heart.

Melding Sarah’s silvery vocals over quick, rhythmic percussion, the Melbourne two-piece have just dropped Sleep it Off; the first single off their forthcoming debut album. If you’re not already familiar with this band, this new track is the perfect introduction.

Melbourne duo Luke And Sarah-Rose have shared Sleep It Off; the stunning first single from their upcoming debut full-length album.

There’s a lot going on in the song and all of it is good. The rhythm is wild and chaotic, yet it provides a pulse that makes us want to dance.

Luke and Sarah-Rose have described Sleep it Off as an exploration of growing pains and the fragility of being a person: a concept that really clearly shines through in the track. Lyrically, it evokes some interesting sentiments, exploring dreams in relation to days past. Doing so in such an upbeat song is really special, and it’s safe to say they’ve hit the nail on the head.

The group have spent a lot of time working on their upcoming album. The duo connected with producer and friend Colin Leadbetter in July 2017, and since then, the group have been exploring textures and experimenting with percussive soundscapes in working on the project. If it’s anything like Sleep it Off, we have a lot to look forward to.

Luke and Sarah-Rose are set to release their debut album mid-2019, and are in the midst of organising a tour thereafter.
