PREMIERE: La Hazel stack layer upon layer of fat beats, powerful vocals and rich textures on Begging

Emerging from Melbourne’s underground future soul scene is a four-man escapade on a mission to blow your mind and please all senses. Unpacking influences ranging from D’Angelo to The Internet, Erykah Badu and The Roots, La Hazel are an interesting hybrid of electronica, soul and R&B.

La Hazel

With a vibe reminiscent of Pharell Williams and drawing soulful similarities to Chet Faker, La Hazel are travelling through the space time continuum to bring you a unique sonic experience.

These future soul masterminds are well acquainted with all things technology, initially introducing themselves to the music scene with a Youtube cover of Pharell Williams Frontin. And for a band beginning with just a Youtube account, La Hazel were quick to transition into real life, performing live with international acts such as Xolisa, Raiza Biza, A1 Krashn and Paco on their Australian tours.

With previous single Love Trick interlocking elements reminiscent of Andre 3000 and SBTRKT, it’s no wonder why the track racked up over 30,000 Facebook views within the first month of its release earlier this year.

Now the boys have put their heads together once again, conjuring up fresh, new track Begging to accompany their previous, multi-genre success. Produced by renowned Melbourne R&B DJ Amin Payne, the track will have you blissfully consumed by its fat grooves and enchanting vocals.

Begging packs in so many elements sonically, that you can’t help but be completely charmed by the explosion of beats, sonic textures and smooth as fuck vocals.

The track embodies all heights of lead singer Lucas Miller’s soulful vocals, radiating an upbeat vibe that is layered over deeper, darker feelings of real-life heartbreak.

The catchy, powerfully honest track is just one of a few releases that La Hazel will be dropping this year, so keep your ears peeled. September 12 will see the video release for Begging too; in the mean time you can listen the track on Spotify or CD Baby.
