PREMIERE: Cloud Daddy & The Kingston Big Smokes share two brilliantly melancholic new songs

I could probably base this entire article on how great their band name is, but Cloud Daddy & The Kingston Big Smokes also make quite an incredible and unique brand of electronica.

Luckily for us, we’ve just been treated to not one, but two new tracks from the Sydney duo… and we’re really loving both of them.

With their two new singles Two Things and Elizabeth, Cloud Daddy & The Kingston Big Smokes will draw you into a hallucinatory dreamscape.

Made up of Galen Sultman (Gaelen) and Otto Reitano (CDAD), Cloud Daddy & The Kingston Big Smokes obviously draw from a huge range of influences, and the result is a sound completely unique to themsleves.

With droning vocals and glassy synth work, Two Things is gloriously melancholic, like a post-cone existential crisis. Elizabeth is the brighter of the two – celebrating the joys of long-weekend public holidays.

Fittingly, both tracks were recorded over the Queen’s birthday long weekend last year. Thanks Liz.

As full-time work encroaches on one’s freedoms and opportunity, public holidays in the name of royalty must not be ridiculed, but seized as one’s own,” the band say.

Two Things and Elizabeth both make for an impressive debut from the Sydney boys. Definitely keep an eye out for more.

For now, do yourself and listen to the two new tracks above.
