Bored Housewives Club are a duo from New Zealand who play to the beat of their own drum. This is the kind of music you blast at full volume if you want to piss off your neighbours.
On Iti, Bored Housewives Club showcase a stripped-back brand of punk, one that’s cuter than your average dose. But who said punk had to be angry?
Before they started making music together, Aaron played in a band called Big Friendlies, who enjoyed a #1 hit on the radio. Then Alayne taught herself drums so that Aaron would hang out with her.
Their debut EP was recorded in Alayne’s Newtown flat and Aaron’s little attic room in Hataitai. Overall, Iti is composed of heartwarming, stripped back songs that see the duo taking fun liberties rhythmically and melodically.
Aaron’s deep vocals take the lead on Personfriend, as he sings about wanting to make a connection.

Cafe Art channels early B-52s weirdness and grooves as the duo chant “it meant nothing” like a self-healing mantra, while Zooey Deschanel makes fun of boys wanting girlfriends without really caring about them and who just want everything to be about them.
