PREMIERE: Sink into the hallucinatory fuzz of Blush Response’s new track Cruel

Is shoegaze still a dirty word? I don’t really care. When groups like Adelaide’s Blush Response are making such incredible music with shoegaze’s dream-like qualities, the term should be one of endearment.

Blush Response write hallucinatory tracks brimming with catchy hooks, which they then tear to shreds with lethal doses of fuzz and reverb.

On their new track Cruel, Adelaide’s Blush Response build an impenetrable wall of sound, and proceed to kick through it with punchy fuzz.

The group’s new track Cruel is a dreamy slow burner that simmers through its verses with lush, understated, and gloriously fuzzed-out guitar, steadily building before erupting at its conclusion.

Featuring guitar from Flyying Colours member Brodie J Brümmer, the song’s searing guitar solos cut through the wall of sound like a hot knife through butter. It makes for a truly satisfying listen.

Made up of Alister Douglas, Joseph Caporaso, Walter Marsh, and Zach Caporale, the four-piece are well versed in the live scene, having laid down support slots for City Calm Down, Spiderbait and Flyying Colours.

Cruel is the second single taken off Blush Response’s upcoming debut album Hearts Grow Dull, set for release in April.
