PREMIERE: Bachelor Pad embrace the drunken Nintendo party vibes in Ever Get The Feeling

Earlier in the year local Sydney garage-synth connoisseurs Bachelor Pad hit our buzzing radar with their latest single Ever Get The Feeling. Harbouring the best kind of vibes a garage track can, Bachelor Pad bring you the official video for their Nintendo-synth party single, and you’re definitely gonna love it.

Bachelor Pad post

Bachelor Pad embrace the drunken Nintendo party vibes of Ever Get The Feeling in it’s manic new clip. From melancholy to madness, watch the band suffer through boring parties and gym class, when all they want to do is play music and skol beers.

In a bid to recreate Daniel Crook’s ‘An Embroidery of Voids’, band siblings Grace (keys) and Huw (vocals/guitar) directed a clip that required all of their friends to party, whilst they sit on a couch in what can only be described as a state of extreme melancholy, and watch everyone have the time of their lives. In an air of bringing the lyrics “do you ever get the feeling like something’s gonna happen / but you know it’ll never happen to you” to life, images of the band being trained by the type of gym coach you see in American movies are played before you in slow motion, exuding heartbreaking defeat, strangely coupled with an admirable manner of determination. As the band engage in a game of seemingly innocent game of basketball, there’s an underlying set of emotions just ready to pop – a little bit like that time life threw you a curve-ball and you just didn’t know how to feel about it all.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though, as the closing scenes of the band jamming out with Grace rolling around on roller blades will bring you a big sigh of relief – they’re gonna’ make it out of this crazy game alive! All in all, it’s a clip that captures the essence of the song in a perfectly wrapped package for your viewing and listening pleasure.

In keeping their synth-rock dream alive, alongside the video clip Bachelor Pad have been working hard to ensure their album Bachelor Pad Is For The People is ready for release in the later part of this year. I know, you don’t want to wait that long either, but put those fears aside because they’ll have a couple more singles ready in the lead up. They’ll also have some fresh threads coming really soon, so make sure you get to a show to get a taste of what’s to come and pick yourself up a sweet band shirt.
