40 Sydney venues are protesting the NSW Government tonight

Tonight, in protest of the NSW Government’s increasingly ridiculous venue and licensing laws, 40 Sydney pubs, clubs, bars, and venues will stop serving alcohol from 6pm.

But, if you’re gearing up for a big night on the town, don’t worry… the protest will only last 10-15 minutes.

Unhappy Hour: Tonight, from 6pm, a stack of Sydney pubs, clubs, bar, and venues will cease service in protest of the NSW Government’s harsh venue and licensing laws.

The primary aim of the protest is to draw attention to the NSW state election, which is taking place tomorrow – Saturday, March 22nd.

The list of participating venues includes The Courthouse, The Bank Hotel, The Lansdowne Hotel, This Must Be The Place, Oxford Arts Factory, PS 40, Lobo Plantation, Earl’s Juke Joint Bulletin Place, Bistecca, the Duke of Clarence, and a heap of others.

During the allocated ‘Unhappy Hour’, venue owners will grab a mic and spend a little time telling punters how these increasingly harsh regulations have impacted their businesses.

If you want to have your voice heard in the future of NSW’s nightlife, make sure you cast your vote at the state election tomorrow. Set aside a bit of time today, make sure you’re across who’s running for your local seat, and make sure you’re across which party stands for what issues.
