Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are set to soundtrack the new Ron Howard-produced series, Mars. Take a peek at the mysterious first cut here

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are no strangers the art of the original soundtrack.

Earlier this year the long-time collaborators provided the score for the film Hell or High Water starring Jeff Bridges. Collectively they have provided the soundtrack to dozens of movies over the past few decades, including The Assassination of Jesse James, The Road and The Proposition. 

Now it has been announced that the duo have scored a new six-part series from the National Geographic Channel called Mars.

Get interstellar with Nick Cave and Warren Ellis as they gear up to release their collaborative soundtrack for the new Ron Howard-produced series, Mars.

The fictional series, directed by Everardo Gout and produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, tells the story of a crew on the first mission to Mars in 2033 and will feature interviews with actual scientific experts. It will be airing first on November 14th on National Geographic.

The theme song for Mars features vocals from Cave and some spacey production from Ellis (who is known to be very fond of his trusty little Microkorg). You can check it out below.

The full Cave/Ellis Mars soundtrack will be November 11 via Milan Records.
