King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have built a career off belting out absolutely insane psych-rock/folk/jazz music, but even they weren’t quite sure how to react to the strangeness of Nardwuar The Human Serviette.
Over the weekend, while in Vancouver, Canada, King Gizzard were interviewed by Nardwuar… and what ensued is possibly the greatest music interview I’ve ever seen.
Strange meet stranger; Psych lords King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard were interviewed by Nardwuar The Human Serviette, and the result is complete madness.
Through the interview, you’ll see Nardwuar go through his regular gift-giving routine, including an awesome singed Sonics poster, various old-school psych records, and a glorious photograph of drummer Eric Moore playing lawn tennis.
“Eric, you are very coordinated aren’t you?” The Serviette asks.
And yes, it turns out that Moore is quite the tennis player, having won the B-Grade Deniliquin Easter Tennis Tournament. All that drumming is starting to pay off.
Of course the interview ends with Nardwuar’s signature sign-off “Keep on rockin in the free world, and doot doota doot doot, doot doot,” and an awkward pose of he and the band. Seriously, this video is pure joy.
