My Bloody Valentine will release two new albums, not EPs. Celebrate with a brand new Brian Eno collab

In case you missed the news, My Bloody Valentine have spent the better part of a year or two teasing a few upcoming releases.

What was originally rumoured to be a set of two EPs have now graduated into two full albums, which we’ll all agree is very good news. Today Kevin Shields has also unveiled a new track with Brian Eno, which was previously only available as a Record Store Day exclusive vinyl.

It seems My Bloody Valentine’s plans for a set of EPs have expanded substantially, with Kevin Shields sharing the news that two new albums were in the works.

Speaking in an interview at Japan’s Super Sonic Festival, Shields shared:

“We’re trying to finish a short album of material… it was going to be an EP in the summer, but we decided not to and decided to make it longer. So it will be seven tracks or eight tracks, hopefully will be finished in the end of November [2018].”

“We’ll also be recording new material next year. There will be a lot of new material coming in the next… in the next year, there will be about two new records.”

Today you can listen to The Weight of History, a sister track to Only Once Away My Son, which was released by Kevin Shields and Brian Eno for Record Store Day 2018.
