Margaret Atwood says she’s keen for Drake to make a cameo in season two of The Handmaid’s Tale

Margaret Atwood’s classic 1985 dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale has recently has been rejuvenated with an excellent TV adaptation starring Elizabeth Moss.

It’s been getting rave reviews, and has already been renewed for a second season. But Atwood thinks the show could be taken to the next level with a cameo from fellow Canadian, Drake, Vulture points out.

Eminent author Margaret Atwood says she’s keen for Drake to star in the second season of the TV adaption of her classic 1985 dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale.

Chatting to the Boston Review, journalist Junot Díaz was surprised that Atwood and Drake (“Toronto’s two preeminent ‘global superstars'”) hadn’t met in person.

“I haven’t met Drake, but I have of course met people who have met Drake,” Atwood explained. “But you have to realise how o-l-d I am. I’m not likely to go to the same parties. Or many parties at all, to be frank.”

“Wouldn’t it be fun for him to have a cameo in season two of The Handmaid’s Tale?” Atwood suggested. “I’ll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto. Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?

Sounds about right.
