Mantell prove they’re not just another indie band with Can I Set It Right

With their latest single Can I Set It Right, Mantell prove that they’re well on their way to securing a place as one of the most exciting up-and-comers to navigate their way through Melbourne’s notoriously overwhelming music scene.

It’s Mantell’s first release of 2019 and sees the band prove they’re an indie-rock force to be reckoned with.

Melbourne outfit Mantell prove that they’re capable of much more than indie ballads with their latest single Can I Set It Right.

This year marks Mantell’s fifth birthday. The band have matured in leaps and bounds since their early days, with their latest single Can I Set It Right proving that their talents and prowesses are limitless.

Can I Set It Right stays true to the band’s DIY ethos. The song was written, recorded and produced in the same home studio in the suburbs of Melbourne that saw their previous tracks come to life. The single was birthed from a simple riff. When the band added punchy bass and a catchy chord sequence, Can I Set It Right came to life. Matt Stapleton, of Melbourne band Magic Americ, mixed the track and helped navigate its sound with a unique approach to production processing and effects.

The track pays homage to indie bands of the noughties; Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes provided huge sources of inspiration to boys behind Mantell. Can I Set It Right is the perfect follow-up to the band’s 2018 EP thirty two, and is a prime showcase their signature sound.

Mantell is launching their latest single Can I Set It Right this Saturday night at The Grace Darling in Melbourne’s Collingwood. Support slots will be filled by Magic America and Pat Devlin. For more information, head to the Facebook event page.
