Lobster Thermidor à la Snoop Dogg: rapper releases debut cookbook

American-based publishing company Chronicle Books have teased audiences with news of a new cookbook with recipes for “snacks to satisfy those munchies”, from who else but Snoop Dogg.

“You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen. I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped and whipped collection of my favourite recipes, ya dig?”

The cookbook should come as no surprise to fans. Snoop Dogg entered the culinary realm back in 2016, co-hosting a home-cooking show with America’s favourite chef, Martha Stewart. Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party was first aired on VH1 in 2016. Last year the show received a well-deserved nomination for an Emmy award (Snoop already has 17 Grammy nominations).

Organised by both meals and occasions, From Crook to Cook will feature classic recipes such as Bow Wow Brownies with Ice Cream and Billionaire Bacon, as well as more aspirational dishes such as filet mignon and lobster thermidor.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the first rapper to tear it up in the kitchen. 2Chainz wrote a 28-page cookbook #Meal Time, Kelis published My Life on a Plate and Coolio wrote Cookin’ With Coolio. Action Bronson, meanwhile, presents a web series called Fuck, That’s Delicious.

Jack of all trades, master of a few, Snoop Dogg is best known for his prolific rap career. He released his 16th studio album Bible of Love back in March. As well as music, Snoop has been known to coach youth football teams and direct pornographic movies…

Chronicle Books have confirmed From Crook to Cook will be 100 per cent cannabis-free, sadly.

From Crook to Cook is out in October via Chronicle Books.
