As of this morning, triple j have opened the floodgates on the Hottest 100 of 2017. Suss it.
From humble beginnings in 1989 the Hottest 100 has grown into a formidable beast, these days commanding more attention than any other Australian music countdown.
Yep, it’s time to agonise once again over the toughest decision you’ll make this year: which 10 songs you’ll vote for in the Hottest 100 of 2017.
Following a decision made by the station last month, the Hottest 100 will not be taking place on Australia Day in 2018. You’ll instead be able to tune in for the results on January 27th, conveniently settling on a Saturday for that extra hangover insurance.
As always, voting will chuck you in the running to win triple j’s Golden Ticket, a double pass to every gig they support throughout the next calendar year (so Splendour in the Grass, Sydney City Limits, and Laneway to name a few).
After raising $250,000 during last year’s countdown, the broadcaster will once again be accepting donations towards AIME, an educational nonprofit supporting Indigenous youth in Australia. If you feel like doing something good today, donate here.
