Late icon Anthony Bourdain won every Emmy he was nominated for

It has been only three months since Anthony Bourdain’s passing and it has just been announced that his television programs, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and Explore Parts Unknown, won six Emmy awards.

Anthony Bourdain’s projects received every award that they were nominated for, including: Outstanding Informational Series or Special, Writing for Non-Fiction Program, Picture Editing for a Non-Fiction Work, Sound Editing for a Non-Fiction Program, and Sound Mixing for a Non-Fiction Program.

Anthony Bourdain posthumously won six awards for both his CNN projects at this year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards in every category they were eligible for.

Explore Parts Unknown executive producer Nathan Thornburgh detailed the loss the world was still feeling after the icon’s passing while receiving the reward on his behalf.

“The one thing about this loss is it’s not ours alone like everybody knew that guy. Everybody had a selfie with him, but more importantly, I think everyone felt like he had spoken to them over the years and that’s helped a lot, to feel like we’re not alone.”

Co-worker and producer Lydia Tenaglia mentioned that he had previously been nominated eight times and always wanted to win the esteemed award for producing non-fiction content.

“Tony was nominated for this Emmy many times, but it had always eluded him, so it is with tremendous bittersweetness that I accept it on his behalf.”

This isn’t the first time he’s won Emmy’s at the ceremony. In 2011 and 2009 he went home with a win for Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. He also won four straight Primetime Emmys in 2013-2016 for Parts Unknown.

It can definitely be said that the world will continue to miss the talent and passion Anthony Bourdain put into his projects. His final project, Parts Unknown, will return for one final season.
