Bringing blues back with a modern twist, Larkin Poe are coming to Australia

Nashville-based duo Larkin Poe have just announced two Australian 2019 Bluesfest sideshows, as well as the release date of their brand new studio album Venom & Faith.

Larkin Poe is comprised of sisters Rebecca (leads vocals, electric guitar) and Megan (vocals, lap steel guitar), who have earned themselves the name the ‘little sisters of the Allman Brothers’, as an ode to their rootsy heritage.

The Nashville sisters that make up Larkin Poe, will be performing their unique, soulful tunes in Melbourne and Sydney this coming April.

Larkin Poe has announced that their next studio album Venom & Faith will be released on November 9. The duo has previewed their highly anticipated record with their gritty single Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues and sultry, stripped back track Ain’t Gonna Cry.

It’s a celebration of American roots music as translated by two sisters who are playing the blues in a modern age.”

Larkin Poe’s last studio album Peach stayed true to the sisters’ authentic, rootsy influences, half the release comprised of blues covers and half original material written by the duo.

The duo has incorporated the high-energy elements of early blues and folk into a revamped Americana-tinged roots music. Keeping the genre and tradition alive, the sisters have gained a dedicated following as a result of their truly unique ability to capture the essence of their musical origins.

Larkin Poe draws inspiration from their distant relative; tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe. The duo have very much combined their iconic heritage of artistic, soulful expression into their music and has consistently provided incredible live performances.
